So here is the recap of THE WORLD CLASS MIC SHOWDOWN event that was held at the @livingroomloung in the BRONX. (Seems like BX got a lot going on now a days huh?) Well! Your’e right! Jessie “DAZE” Swindel aka DAZE and Lucas “BLAZE” Alvarez C0-C.E.O’s of Scrilla Guerrilla Magazine and Entertainment (also from the BX might we add) jump started the Spring/Summer the right way with this event!
MARCH 24th,2018 at the “LIVING ROOM” Bronx NY,
Showtime started at 6pm sharp and I believe even DAZE himself was surprised by the turn out to the amount of support shown by his peers. Anyone from up and coming entities and business owners, movie directors to HIP-HOP LEGENDS were floating around in the building.. Chilling!
Hosted by the one and only LORD FINESSE (hip-hop legend for those who don’t know.. google that) followed up by some dope stage performances for the competition. Oh! did I mention this was a competition for placement in Scrilla Guerrilla Magazine, placement on the SG network powered by Amazon where the artist video would be in rotation with other major artist? The BIG prize is winning distribution deal from one of the leading distribution companies in the world in EMPIRE DISTRIBUTION
The crowd was a pleasantly mixed crowd, between young and old. Seems to have created a positive balance throughout. Among the event goers were JGTM TV Debra CoCo who showed love. Lord Finesse and Rap Legend Mysonne was chilling in the cut. Let’s not forget Violator Radio team (S.I.P Chris Lighty) were in attendance as well.
The Performance
The LIVING ROOM LOUNGE had a living room setting… umm duh lol. The Living Room Lounge was a very nice and lofty spacious venue with strategically arranged furniture and a spacious stage for any sized performance. Speaking of performances, let get to that! All of the performances were solid performances or at least dope songs with DECENT performances. However, there were some notable performances especially by SHANX (see video) who from the start to finish of his set owned the stage! Full of energy and confidence! Also, another notable performance was by @BXSCRIP (see video) who’s team MORE OF US actually won the distribution thru EMPIRE DISTRIBUTION. Their performance had MYSONNE on the stage hype!
THE OVERALL
At the end of it all, it was a great night with a lot of networking going on. Black Excellence meets Black Excellence. artis came out and performed at a high level. I suggest, that if you are an artist and plan on performing at the “WORLD CLASS MIC SHOWDOWN” that you bring you “A game” because there is another one coming up! Stay tuned we’ll be posting about it!
