Since 1973 since we’ve seen this NBA Championship Ring for the New York Knicks but we’re here! This could be one of the most important rings in the history of NBA Championship winnings. Not only because it’s New York city but the style in which we won. A complete team effort.
From the back office
We’re talking from the multi-million dollar pay cut taken by Jalen Brunson (who is currently MVP of the 2025-2026 NBA Basketball season) to acquiring an unlikely bunch that, at the time, didn’t know what the strategy was even to the hiring of veteran coach Mike Brown who’s coaching is the foundation of why Knicks win their games.
The Dig Deep Mentality –
The journey was like none other. Knicks go on to win 16 out 19 games in the post season. A slew of NBA Records were broken on the way especially the unforgettable game 3 where we came back from a 29 point deficit to win the game over the Spurs. The times when we felt the game was over and was ready to walk away and wait for the next game, their tenacity and willingness to not give up only showed us that you MUST watch a full game till the end.. You have to. It’s a thing.
TEAM EFFORT
Although Brunson is clearly our MVP, there are unsung heros on this Knicks team. OG ANUNOBY, we don’t win anything without him.. Shamet, another one comes from out of nowhere to give New York knicks huge 3 point shots and well needed steals in the clutch. How about Jose Alvarado who was acquired during the 25-26 season with his scrappy yet high basketball IQ. We can’t forget those guys and others not mentioned because we do not win without their play..
We are now in championship conversation.. forever
New Yorkers can now rest. We can now stand among other fans of teams that have won rings within the last 10 years. Not only did we win. We did it the way it should’ve been done. None of it came easy.. We just depended on each other.. As a team.
