Dubbed the “Harlem Princess” by a former New York City mayor ( paperwork to prove it) — Vina’s title didn’t come out of thin air. And for the record, Hoodmedia was there when it went down. THANKS!!
But truthfully? She was already outside.
The buzz, the personality, the talent and that unmistakable Harlem energy were there long before anybody put a crown on it. The title just made it official.
Fast-forward and Vina still isn’t letting up.
Her latest record, “Then Again,” feels like another step forward. The production hits, the lyrics connect, and the energy sits right in that sweet spot where a record can live in your headphones, your car, the function or somebody’s late-night playlist. It doesn’t try too hard … it just feels good.
And if you’ve been paying attention, versatility has always been part of Vina’s playbook.
“Motion Party” showed she isn’t afraid to bend the sound and step outside what people expect from her. Then she can jump into her remix bag, touch something like “More of You,” and flip it with her own sauce.
That’s where Vina separates herself.
There’s a fearlessness to her music. A little Harlem slick talk. A little vulnerability. A lot of personality. And enough charisma to make you pay attention even when she switches lanes.
“Then Again” isn’t Vina Love introducing herself.
She did that already.
This is the Harlem Princess reminding everybody that the crown was never the story — the motion was.
