Clarence and wife Jacquline Avant were shot and killed in an home invasion in their home in Beverly Hills! Jaqueline who was 55 year resident of Beverly Hills a known philanthropist and President of the Neighbors of Watts and sat on the International board of Directors at the University Of, Los Angeles. Her husband of over 50 years, Clarence Avant was also murdered in the home invasion was a well known and respected music executive in the early 60’s and 70’s that has hands in the careers of many major artist that include multi-platinum recording artist Baby Face, L A Reid and Jimmy jam and Terry Lewis. Clarence was also spearheading Motown Records in the 90’s according to reports. Avant was also known as the godfather of music.
Charges were brought up against Aariel Maynor,29 for attempted murder for allegedly shooting at security during the invasion but the security wasn’t injured. Maynor is also charged with one count of felon with a fire arm, assault with long barrel pistol, 2 counts of residential burglary with a person present. Maynor has previous convictions of assault and was also on parole at the time of the shooting.
Just trying to figure out why? Why would he pick that house? These were elderly people that were well known to a certain demographic but what would a 29 year old male want with these people? However, all of this is alleged and we will update as we find out more.
