Baz Luhrmann produced Netflix show “The Get Down” which is a show based out of the late 1970’s in the Bronx where hip-Hop started and the show displays young talents that are in love with hip hop and disco at that time.
The show show cased some great up and coming talent in the acting world. Justice Smith, Shameik Moore, Herizen Guardiola, Skylen Brooks, Stefanee Martin and Jaden Smith–alongside accomplished veteran actors like Jimmy Smits, Kevin Corrigan and Giancarlo Esposito.
Though the show had mixed reviews but still garnered a DECENT buzz but Baz Luhrmann posted on his FB page saying that he had to much on his plate. 
“This exclusivity has understandably become a sticking point for Netflix and Sony, who have been tremendous partners and supporters of the show. It kills me that I can’t split myself into two and make myself available to both productions… But the simple truth is, I make movies.”
says Luhrmann. Contributers to the series was Nas, Grand Master Flash and Nelson George.
