According to SOURCE.COM Optimum has now officially dropped the entire STARZ! So not only would the hit show POWER be effected but other original STARZ shows that were on the platform such as Survivors Remorse, Ash vs Evil Dead and American Gods will now be off air!. I personally haven’t watched any of the other STARZ original series but I’m assuming they were hot as well but to no avail.
The first announcement came from Omari Hardwick aka GHOST from the show POWER first took to instagram with the announcement of the possibilities of Optimum (which is/was the service provider).
Now there is apparently a company called ALTICE USA that is claiming they offered a short term extension passed a midnight deadline. Which would’ve ultimately lead to raising prices to subscribers. Altice USA then released an official statement:
“We are focused on providing the best content experience for our customers and continually evaluate which channels meet their needs and preferences relative to the cost of the programming imposed by content owners. Given that STARZ is available to all consumers directly through STARZ’ own over-the-top streaming service, we don’t believe it makes sense to charge all of our customers for STARZ programming, particularly when their viewership is declining and the majority of our customers don’t watch STARZ.”
