MALCOLM MCGILL a.k.a MELZ is probably one of the best, if not THE best rappers coming out of UTICA (upstate NY). Yes .. We said it! Malcolm McGill has been consistently on his grind and consistently putting on for his hometown of Utica NY. Let’s be clear! Utica NY is just like any other place.. It can happen.. However, Malcolm McGill aka Melz will tell you all about it. Not in a bitter way or miserable way but in ways that are just dope.. I can’t’ explain it.. But I’ll try..lol
Melz is just one of those artist that “got it”.. Like, there are no dull moments when it comes to his lyricism. He has real life conversations through his music.. Conversations that WE ALL can relate to one way or the other. But here’s the thing. He actually knows how to make a song! Although he’s lyrical. We say that because a lot of artist that are lyrical sometimes seems like there trying to force things down your throat (pause) lol. However, Malcolm McGill doesn’t try to “force” his messages. He simply brings awarenesses. With RECORDS like “JUMED OFF THE PORCH” Where is braggadocio says I ain’t perfect but! Im STILL DOPE! Then to other songs such as “REVERSE PHYCOLOGY” Where he actually talks his friend out of committing suicide! AND the song is dope! Then You have songs like “BROTHER HOOD” where he is talking to his brother.. blood or not.. it just makes sense..
He has the ability to draw mental pictures that are fun, entertaining and REAL! The most impressive things with Melz is his work ethic and his fearlessness with being versatile and taking chances/healthy risks when it comes to creating his music. He’s just a RAW talent, to say the least because of his grind. However, on top of all that..HE’S FIIRREE!! look around on the site.
