DC sniper Lee Boyd Malvo sentence over turned

Around or about 15 years ago, there was a massive sniper shooting spree going on in the D.C. area. Where 10 people were killed and 3 others were wounded in a crusade that lasted for a terrifying 3 weeks. There were 2 assailants involved in the shooting John Allan Muhammad and  Lee Boyd Malvo. At the time of the shootings Lee Boyd Malvo was only 17 and being tried as an adult and sentenced to Life in prison with no chance of parole.

QUICK Recap

In 2002 John allan Muhammad and Malvo were up and down the east coats on a 3 week sniping spree that had surrounding areas in arms. John Allan Muhammad was said to be the leader of the 2 going on this spree. Muhammad alleged reasons for going on this spree was behind a woman that he was in Love with and she wanted nothing to do with him any longer. SMFH!!! Malvo was an accomplice in the shooting. They drove around in a Chevrolet Caprice that had a hole in the trunk. This allowed one to drive while the other took aim and shot innocent people. 10 people were killed. People doing something as simple as pumping gas in their car would end up dead from a gun shot.. from no where. The shootings took place in VA, DC and Maryland areas.

AND NOW

Fast forward Malvo at the time of his/their capture was only 17. Malvo appealed the court and based in on a Miller vs Alabama case according to Fox News 5 DC. The court ruled in favor that juvenile are constitutionally different from adults for the purpose of sentencing. Judge Raymond Jackson ruled in favor “because juveniles have diminished culpability and greater prospects for reform which makes them “less deserving of the most severe punishment”.

Malvos case has gone back to Spotsylvania County Circuit for re-sentencing.
